Scars of Silence

People around the the globe are commemorating the centenary of the Armenian genocide, and we are touched by the extraordinary photo essay in the Boston Globe. Carousel Films is also proud to be serving as story consultant to Nubar Alexanian, a Gloucester photographer who is making a film about his own family's experience. Nubar--a very American dad who long hated his Armenian name, his nose, and cultural traditions--was swept up into an investigation of what happened to his grandmother in Turkey during the genocide after his daughter suggests they trek to his ancestral homeland. Nubar hopes to edit his film, Scars of Silence, later this year.
